Working At Home Online - Be Persistent & Pay Attention!

Working at home online although sounds like a great idea, in reality requires a lot more work, persistence and determination to succeed than a normal 9 to 5 job. In a 9 to 5 job if you just turn up to work you get paid.

The rewards of working at home online can be unbelievable if you persist and stick at it, however it can also be the exact opposite if you don’t know what you’re doing.

The biggest advice I can give to a newbie wanting to make a full time living working at home would be to identify a marketing strategy that suits your personality, meaning something that you like doing. For example if you’re a great writer, then do article marketing, if you’re good at building websites then concentrate on seo and content management systems, if you’re good at detailed analysis then look at PPC, but do whatever it is that suits your personality type.

What if you don’t know what your personality type is? Then this would be your first goal. (i.e.) Find out what your personality type is. Think about things you have done in the past. What have you been successful at? What makes you happy? Do you see yourself doing it for fun?

Next, is to discover what marketing methods out there support your personality type, and then find someone who has had success with the method and learn how they have done it.

Next. focus all your attention on replicating their success, and (this is the most important thing) PAY ATTENTION!

You might be thinking to yourself - pay attention to what! All I can say is just pay attention. Observe what is going on, not only with the content of what you’re learning, but with everything around you. Often I find that the answer to my problems have always been there staring me in the face, but I have been so focused on the task at hand that I miss the answer which was always there. And just a side note ( remember, whatever you experience every second of the day is “your life’s journey” ).  So take it all in and experience it.

Here’s and example I used on my 10 year old son at breakfast one morning.

What two numbers multiplied together equals 68.

As he started to run through his time tables in head he sounded out 7 X 6 =, 6 X 6 =, 7 X 8 = and on it went, and then back again, trying different combination’s of numbers and then in frustration he said “I give up”.

Then I said to him, “you’re gonna kick yourself when I tell you the answer” so he tried again. But this time I said “the answer is so simple and not numbers you would normally use. Also there are two sets of numbers that would equal 68″.

So what happen next was, he started to explore numbers outside the numbers he had focused on at school.

And he came up with 1 X 68 and 2 x 34. Well done and congratulations !
