New Technology Could Save Money.

New technology designed by a company in Connecticut, the green revolution is turning Inc sessions in the gym clean, renewable electricity.

It’s a workout that hopes to work on some of our energy problems and offers a glimpse of what could be achieved if we all do our part.

The first devices were installed recently on seventeen bikes at the Ridgefield Fitness Club in Ridgefield, Connecticut.

The energy produced is fed directly into the clubs electricity cupboard where a grid-tie inverter pumps energy back on to the grid.

The new company is the result of founder and CEO of the Green Revolution, Jay Whelan. It was while recovering from a shoulder injury that Whelan - a former partner at management consultants Accenture - had the idea of creating a machine that could exploit human power.

What an awesome, awesome idea!!

Why didn’t anyone think of doing something like this before? In fact this idea is so cool, it could be extended to home use in my humble opinion.

We are bombarded with exercise infomercials day in and day out, people seem to prefer to workout from the comfort, privacy and convenience of their own homes. So why not give them even more incentive to do so.

I can almost see the new infomercial now. It might sound something like this….

“Save money on your next electricity bill!”

“Pedal your electricity bill away and shed pounds while saving money”.

Hey, seems like a great idea especially in the current economic environment.

So what’s your take?

Good idea or bad idea?
