Bengal Tigers Maul Singapore Worker To Death

A rare Bengal white tiger at the Singapore Zoo in 2005. SINGAPORE (AP) - The Singapore Zoo had three white Bengal tigers mauled a zoo cleaner to death after the man jumped into a moat surrounding their enclosure.

Biswajit Guha, the Singapore Zoo ’s assistant director, said the tiger pounced on Mondong bin Nordin, 32 years old from Malaysia.

The tigers weighing over 220 pounds (100 kg) each.

Guha, colleagues said zoo workers managed to distract the tiger and Nordin benefit from it, but he died on the way to a hospital.

He said in a statement on Thursday that a Malaysia contract worker jumped into the moat and was attacked by three white tigers. He said: “Unfortunately the worker succumbed to his injuries.”
