Returning Goods To TheWareHouse

Recently , my 8 year old son bought a PC game from TheWareHouse in Wellington. About a day later we returned back to Christchurch and full of excitement he started the process of installing the game only to find that the PC was too lame to run it.

When I looked at the specifications of the game to my amazement it needed a fully spec’ed PC with video card and duo core processors with at least 1.7 or 2.0 CPU grunt.  Whilst this spec is not uncommon it ment that he could go any further with the installation.

I asked him where his receipt was and he replied that he “binned” it back in Wellington. I felt really sorry for him, and seeing the disappointment in his eyes prompted me to call TheWarehouse here in Christchurch to see if they could do anything for him. I had absolutely no expectations from them, because my son no longer had the receipt. Furthermore we had purchased the PC game in Wellington and not Christchurch, so I was expectations weren’t high.

I called TheWarehouse in Northlands mall and talked to a young lady named Mel and to my amazement she said that they would be able to give us a store credit on the PC game so long as I bought it into the shop as soon as possible. I explained about not having the receipt and having bought it in Wellington and she said that they would make an exception – (I know!). A little dumb founded and dis-believing I said we would be in the store within the next 15 – 20 minutes.

Now I’m the kind of guy that does’nt get too excited on what people tell me on the phone until the event actually transpires. So my 8 year son and I made the trip down to TheWareHouse in the Northlands mall and rocked up to the returns counter, to find that Mel wasn’t at the returns counter, but a fellow named Graham was. I immediately though, oh no, did I call the right store, maybe I dialed the Northwood branch instead.

Anyway, I though we are here now and let’s just go and see what happens.

So I told him the story and guess what?

He was expecting me….yep you got it, Mel had told him that I was coming in and approved the store credit.

All I have to say is “big massive props to Mel of TheWareHouse in Northlands mall”. You rock girl!!

There’s not too many places that impress me these days for service especially in Christchurch…don’t get me wrong I love Christchurch, that’s why I live here, but some service providers SUCK. However, this little experience impressed me enough to write about it, and that doesn’t happen unless I am urged to do it.

Pay Per View (PPV) Tutorials

I’m planning on putting together a series of pay per view tutorials for people who might be interested in learning more about it.

Having said that, there is just some much information to cover, that I have no clue where to start really. But I always find it a lot easier to write on topics that have a direct interest for people.

So leave me a comment below and I will cover it in the up coming tutorials

Thanks

New WordPress Theme For FrankSheung.com

Well, I am having real problems with my previous wp theme, so I have had to resort to some really drastic measures and swap the theme out for this one that you see right here.

The problems I encountered was with the sidebar menu dropping underneath the content of a post. Thought I would fix it, but this seems to be a continuing sager with the theme. I had problems with formating videos and pictures and even now and again. A big pain in the arse !

Anyways, thought I would give this theme a crack and chuck it up and have a play around with it.

TrafficVance vs MediaTraffic.

I’m gonna make this post kinda short.

As you already know I have an account with TrafficVance.com and just the other day I got an account with MediaTraffic.com

Although they both supply PPV traffic they have some real differences in terms of the way they operate. I find that TrafficVance is more responsive when it comes to getting a new campaign and keywords/urls approved. You can almost get a new campaign approved 24/7.

The interface in TV is a lot easier to work with too because, it at least gives you an indication of what traffic is available for what keyword/url you are targeting and it doesn’t take too long until traffic starts flowing.

On the whole I just find it a lot easier to navigate through.

Having said that I really only have just opened an account with MediaTraffic. But I am finding that the time difference between countries is a real hassle.  Support is excellent in MediaTraffic when our hours cross over, and I am just in the process of testing out there traffic. So far it has been kinda slow.

The traffic at TrafficVance is great !

I have found big differences in volume of traffic between the two companies. TrafficVance seems to have more traffic than MediaTraffic, which seems odd because my understanding is that MediaTraffic has a bigger pool of people to advertise to.

Anyway, it might be due to the niche I have picked. (i.e.) There’s not much traffic in MT for the niche I am promoting to.

PS: So far I am loving PPV traffic and I am making a profit. But there are some inconsistencies of conversions that have be baffled. Only time will tell.

Why Don’t We Care About Bomb Attacks?

A double bomb attack in a neighborhood in northern Baghdad killed 25 people and wounded 48 others on Monday.

First, a bomb in a parked car exploded at a market in the district of Adhamiya.

When a crowd gathered around the car, a bomber with a load of explosives, detonated the explosives in his vest. Both attacks took place at about 8 am local time.

A day before the insurgents bombed an outdoor market in the Iraqi city of Khalis, in an attempt to kill the mayor, who was wounded in the attack with ville d ‘deputy police chief. Two others were killed when the explosives, hidden under a pile of trash, exploded near a health clinic.

Khalis al-Khadra Auday Mayor and Deputy Chief of Police, Nihad Al-louaibi, were shot in the market and are among the 13 wounded

Sucide bombers in Iraq is almost a weekly or monthly occurence in the news these days, and its unfortunate that we don’t feel the entire impact of the lives lost. If it was closer to home like where we live or go to school or work, then the impact would have a devastating affect. Moreover, if it’s one of our western cousins, the impact will still hit home.

So why is Iraq different?

What’s your thoughts?

The Pick Up Artist On VH1

    The Pick Up Artist

One of the most popular reality TV shows on the internet today.

So what is this hit television show all about?

    As described in Wikipedia.

The Pick-up Artist is an American reality show on VH1 which focuses on a group of nine male contestants who have historically been unsuccessful in love and relationships learning the art of the “pickup” as taught by seduction artist Mystery (Erik von Markovik), and his wingmen, Tara and Matador. In eight episodes, Mystery teaches the contestants with guidance and training to meet potential mates in various locations, such as coffee shops and night clubs. The contestants of the show compete with each other through a series of challenges. Most of the challenges on the first season involved picking up women in different situations, such as on a bridge during the day or in a nightclub. Some of the challenges were more novel, such as the second to last challenge where the men had to pick up a stripper, described by Mystery as “the ultimate challenge”.

The first season began on August 6, 2007, and aired weekly until the series finale on September 24, 2007. It took place in Austin, Texas.

The second season began on October 12, 2008.

How To Set Up A Server On Your Home PC.

There are a number of packages out there that can basically do what I am doing here. I prefer to use uniformserver because it is so easy to setup.

    Overview

All you have to do is download a zip file.

    Unzip its content

Click on a “start” icon and then you have a working server right there on your home pc.

    Step: 1

Type http://uniformserver.com into your browser hit enter.

    Step: 2

    Click on the download link.

    Step: 3

    Uniform Zip

    Step: 4

    Unzip it on your Desktop

    Step: 5

And at “One Click” of a button you have set up a virtual office for your new employees to start work.

    Server the server

    Thats it.

Now you have created an environment to start developing your own tools.

You will find that most of the online scripts published today especially for internet marketers are written in php.

Uniformservers 3.5 software gives you everything you need to run these scripts on your very own home PC. normally you’d have to get yourself your own server which can be quite costly.

This way you can have most of the benefits of a server without the cost.
